The Princess and the Pea

Photobucket
Photo by Eugenio Recuenco, from a series inspired by fables and fairy tales.

"The prince saw at once that she must be a real princess when she had felt the pea through twenty mattresses and twenty feather beds. Nobody but a real princess could have such a delicate skin. So the prince took her to be his wife, for now he was sure that he had found a real princess, and the pea was put into the Museum."

I have always had a fascination with enchanting castles, fairy filled forests and the unforgettable charming prince from all the childhood stories I remember. This enrapturing tale of The Princess and the Pea has spawn a new necklace design, inspired by the fabrics of her 2o mattresses, her long luscious hair and the tiny olive pea which discolored the princess' skin.

The Princess and the Pea necklace is made with twelve vintage pink and rose colored pearls and a vintage brass stamping matched with a olive pearl with two bead caps.

I love that picture it reminds me of those adverts of Nina Ricci. Very romantic and phantasmagorical!
By the way, I love your blog and your work is phenomenal.
I also have a blog where I showcase my designs and comment on anything that is dark and vintage related.
Let me know if you would be interested in a link exchange.
